Data centres are facilities that house computer systems and associated components, such as telecommunications and data storage systems. As data centres contain core business and operational data of organisations, and operate round the clock, they require backup power supplies, redundant data communications connections, security systems as well as specific environmental controls in temperature and humidity levels. Such systems require more sophisticated services as compared to general M&E projects due to the complexity of the system integration; the high level of precision required; and the critical and sensitive role that data centres play.
